So what is NLP?
NLP or, Neuro Linguistic Programming is the science of understanding, interprteting and altering thought and behaviour.
Primarily our brain uses a 'road map' we have constructed over the years. This road map is based on interpretations we have made in the past based on our experiences, our beliefs, interests, upbringing, preoccupations and state of mind. As we experience something we file it away and use it later to form opinions. We call this heuristics.
Henceforth, whenever our brain receives stimulus, it decodes it according to a set of rules and procedures it has found have worked in the past. That is we reference our mind road map and navigate through life using the same roads we always have.
If it is a good map, we will go far and enjoy the journey. However, if we have a map which linits us, then we will not achieve the same things which we otherwise may. NLP is about understanding what roads you have drawn on your map and teaching you new ways to navigate through life, and to learn to interpret simulii in new and different ways.
